Rites for Green Fryrear Tentatively Set At Olena Methodist Church

Oquawka, Ill., Dec. 22.—Green Fryrear, 81, died at his home in Oquawka at 1:30 p.m. Monday, following a short illness. Ailing for some time, his condition was not considered serious until Friday morning, Dec. 18, when he was taken suddenly ill and continued so up until his death.
Charles Green Fryrear was born Feb.4,1855, near Memphis, Mo., a son of Harrison and Malvilla Pagett Fryrear. He lived there until he was 18, when he and his twin sister, Mrs. Martha Fort, moved south of Gladstone, Ill. He lived with her until he was married Dec. 13, 1877, to Miss Mary Morgan who lived near Gladstone, being married in Oquawka by Judge Rice. They lived on a farm near Stronghurst and he continued to farm up until they moved to Oquawka 22 years ago last March where he resided until his death.

He is survived by his wife, and by seven children, three daughters. Mrs Ella Hicks of Stronghurst; Mrs. Grace Salter of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Ruby Galbraith of La Crescenta, Calif., and by four sons, Dan of Barrington, Ill.; Ray of Monmouth: Cecil of Terre Haute and Max Fryrear of Monmouth: also 13 grandchildren, four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral arrangements await word from the daughters in the west, but it is thought services will he held at Olena Methodist church with burial in the Olena cemetery. The body is now at the Mudd Funeral home in Biggsville.
