Alma was fourth of the eight children of Richard and Mary Jane (Rowe) Moyle. She was born in Keweenaw County, where her father was employed as a miner. Unfortunately, he passed away while Alma was still a young child, leaving her mother and older siblings to tend to the family.
She married Daniel James McCormick on May 25, 1895, in Chassell, Michigan. Together, the couple had seven children: Edith, William Russell, Lucile, Irene, Harold, Florence Bernadette, and Elaine. They resided in Houghton County for a time before moving to Rockland and later south to Detroit.
Alma was survived by her children, sister Eliza Moyle Lobb Matthews, and brother Richard Howard Moyle. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brothers Alfred, William Charles, and Arthur Moyle, and her sisters Loretta and Edith.
