William W. Wendt Jr. Born Oct 29, 1958 and died Oct 3, 1998 in San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center, Alamosa, Colorado. Bill attended Cassidy School, graduating from Heritage Hall. He attended Oklahoma University and after graduating from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, joined his father's business, Wendt Food Brokers. Upon relocating to Colorado, Bill graduated from the Police Academy and was certified as a peace officer in the state of Colorado where he served as a Deputy Sheriff with the Morgan County Sheriff's office in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Bill was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 168 and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a member of Sigma Epsilon Fraternity, member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was involved with the United Way program, Big Brothers, and Big Sisters. Bill loved all sports and while at OCU, he received an athletic scholarship to play baseball. He is a Licensed Guide for horse trail rides in the Rio Grande Nation Forest. He and his Dad have had many memorable trail rides this summer.

He is survived by his parents, Carol and Bill Wendt of Conejos, Colorado; and his daughter, Jessica Louise of Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sherri Lynn. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the charity of your choice. Friends are welcome at the graveside service 3 pm Thursday at Rose Hill Burial Park. Hahn-Cook, Street & Draper.
