The Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, Tuesday, January 5, 1940:
James R. Eagleton Jr, 9 year old son of Mr and Mrs James R. Eagleton, 2844 NW 22, died of meningitis Thursday at St Anthony Hospital. The boy contracted meningitis Monday. James was born March 25, 1930 in Tulsa amd came to Oklahoma City with his parents in 1931. He was in the 4th grade at Cleveland school and took part in Cub Scout activities. The boy attended First Presbyterian Church. His father is an attorney with offices in First National Building. Besides his parents, James is survived by his 13 month old sister, Suzanne; and his grandmothers, Mrs R. J. Moffett, near Yukon; and Mrs W. L. Eagleton, Norman. Services will be 10 am Saturday in the Hahn chapel. The place of burial has not yet been determined.
