Springville – Rev. John Edward Turner, 84, of Springville, died at 4:20 am on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.

Born October 15, 1927 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Oscar and Martha (Benge) Turner. He married Sharon Bundy on November 5, 1955 and she survives. He retired from Indiana Limestone Co. in 1989 after forty-three years of service. He was a retired minister having served ten years at New Union Christian Church, seven years at Guthrie Christian Church and thirty-three years at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Gosport. He was a member of the New Union Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Sharon; two daughters, Jenny (Dan) Scott of Bedford and Beth (Steve) DuMond of Williams; five grandchildren, Danny (Mandy) Perry of Owensburg, Jon Perry of Bedford, Leah Perry of Muncie, Leslie Jackson and Jason Cooper both of Williams; a granddaughter-in-law, Alecia Perry of Bedford; nine great grandchildren, Kody, Gabrielle, jesse, Abigail, Ryan, Brianna, Savannah, Brayden and Levi; one sister, Sharon Waggoner of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Kenneth and Dovye Bundy; brothers, Bernard and Raymond Turner and Kenneth and Henry (in infancy); sisters, Bernice Baker and Mavis and Mildred (in infancy); two great grandsons, Benjamin and Frederick Perry and a son-in-law, John Jackson.

Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Aaron Levering and Don Cooter officiating. Burial will follow in the New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 13th and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
