Mr. Brooks was born April 10, 1924 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Charlie Brooks and Pearl M. (White) Brooks. He was a retired machinist for the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, attended Republican Grove Baptist Church, served in the Marine Corp and was a World War II veteran. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jessie Brooks; one daughter, Patricia Dian Brooks; one stepdaughter, Janice Carey; three sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include: his wife of 20 years, Marie Brooks of Yuma; one son, Woody (Mary Anne) Brooks of Yuma; four stepsons, Billy Joe (Wilodean) Whitmore of Atwood, Robert (Shirley) Whitmore of McKenzie, Russell (Ann) Whitmore of Tigrett, and Ricky (Betty) Whitmore of Fredricstown, Missouri; one sister, Ruby Bragg of Morton, Mississippi; three grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 26 step-great-grandchildren and eight step-great-great-grandchildren.
