Janet Fauntleroy Taylor, 89, of the 3100 block of Shore Drive, a retired case worker for the Norfolk Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, died July 26, 1993, in her residence.

Miss Taylor was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, whoric Society; former member of the Junior League of Norfolk; past president of the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities; board member of the Norfolk Historic Foundation; and board member of the Episcopal Home. She was also a member of the English Speaking Union; Women's Democratic Club; League of Women Voters; Hope-Maury Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy; and the Norfolk Senior Citizens Club.

Survivors include a brother, Powell Harrison Taylor and his wife, Suzane of Norfolk; a niece, Janet T. Snodgrass of Norfolk; a nephew, Stuart Saunders Taylor of Richmond; three great-nieces; and two great-nephews.

A church service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Irwin M. Lewis Jr. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery , Norfolk. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
