David Louis Hardester of Festus, MO, formerly St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Festus, on Friday, April 13, 2012, having reached the age of sixty-five years and thirteen days. David was born in St. Louis, MO, on March 31, 1947, son of Roy Lee Hardester and Marie Agnes Hardester nee Church. As a young man he was blessed to have two daughters.
David is survived by his daughters, Pam Joseph and husband, Mitch, of Sealy, TX and Kathy Brakhage of the state of Oklahoma; by three brothers, Lee Hardester and wife, Gale, of St. Clair, MO, Gregg Hardester of St. Clair and Gary Hardester and wife, Karen, of St. Clair; by two sisters, Sandra Mueller and husband, Edward, of Union, MO and Christina Kitchen and husband, Mark, of St. Louis, MO; by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one aunt, one uncle, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marie Hardester; by two brothers, Tom Hardester and Rickey Hardester; and by one grandchild, Daniel O'Hara.
David was a Christian, believing in the Lord as his Savior and was a past member of Dittmer Bible Church in Dittmer, MO. He was proud to have served his country during the Vietnam War, entering October 1, 1965 and receiving his honorable discharge on June 20, 1969. As a young man in the 1970's, he was employed by Western Electric Company and had worked at various locations throughout the United States. This is where he developed his love for fixing and tinkering with electronics. He was passionate about his faith, reading his Bible and praying everyday. Most of all, he loved his family; and the many precious memories they have created will be cherished by them all forever.
A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
