LOWELL M. STONE
OGDEN - Lowell Middleton Stone, 87, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2003 at Rocky Mountain Care Center Clearfield.
Lowell was born May 24, 1916 in Ogden, Weber County, Utah to Jay G. and Florence P. Middleton Stone.
Lowell was married to his loving sweetheart, Artie Doris Anderson, on August 21, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He lived in Ogden, Utah all his life. He graduated from Weber County High School and attended Weber State College and Brigham Young University.
Lowell was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Hawaii and several stake missions. He served as Bishop of the Ogden 35th ward for several years.
He retired from the Ogden Iron Works Company after more than 40 years of service.
Lowell enjoyed his family and was grateful for the wonderful wife, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren who blessed his life. He enjoyed traveling and always appreciated the beauty and grandeur of Utah and America. He and Doris also had the opportunity to visit several Caribbean countries. He loved his friends and neighbors. Lowell loved gardening and puttering around at wood working, auto, or anything else he could do with his hands.
Lowell is survived by two sons, Lowell J. (Kathy) Stone, Cave Creek, AZ; Lewis A. (Sheila) Stone, Roy; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are his sister, Grace S. Sears, Glendale, AZ; sister-in-law, Virginia Anderson, Roy; brother-in-law, Oliver M. Larson, Ogden; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, his parents, and his sister, Opal.
We would like to thank Rocky Mountain Care Center Clearfield for the tremendous respect and care they gave. You treated Lowell with the dignity he deserved.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 89 p.m. and Tuesday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
