LAKELAND - Hayes W. "Sonny" Sosebee, Jr., died on April 12, 2012 at Tampa General from heart failure.
He was born in Akron, OH, on August 31, 1947 to the parents of Hayes Wilson Sosebee and Rose Opal (Nolan). He was retired from the US Navy after 20 years.
Sonny was a member of the VFW 8002 Lakeland, Military Order of the "Cootie", and AMVETS.
He is survived by four daughters, Heather, Mel-anie, and Michelle Sosebee, and Melissa Alred (husband-Ken), three brothers, Sidney Sosebee (Mary Ann), Matt Sosebee (Selena), and Mark Sosebee (Linda), eight grandchildren, Caleb, Linzie, Kagen, Steven, Morgan, Ryan, Briana, Tyler, and three great grandchildren, Nathan, Madison, Layla.
A memorial service for Sonny will be held on Monday April 16, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Wells Memorial in Plant City, FL. Friends can come one hour prior to services.
