V IO LA — John F. Adams, age 83, passed away on Monday, July 8, 1985 in the Vernon Memorial Hospital In Viroqua. He was born on December 13, 1901 in Vernon county to Ben and Rose (Glass)
Adams. He married Freda Arnold on May 30, 1920. He farmed for thirty years in Vernon County and then moved to Viola. He had worked for the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation for 36 years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge for 38 years. He was a past member of the Vernon County
Board of Supervisors and had served as a rural school board member. Survivors are his wife, Viola; two daughters, Mrs. George (Vanitia) Smith of Viroqua and Mrs. Roger (Audrey) Johnson of Viola;
a son, Bernard of Viroqua; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Anderson of Readstown and Mrs. Mae Hankins of Viola; 12 grandchildren; and 17 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Virgil; and two brothers, Lewis and Will Adams. Services will be held at the VIOLA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH at 2:00 P.m. on Thursday, July ll. Reverend Donald Nickolson officiating. Burial will be in the Viola Cemetery. Friends may call at the HENTHORN MEMORIAL CENTER in Viola Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday from 12:30 until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. The LARSON FUNERAL HOME in Viroqua is in charge of arrangements.
