She was born on September 29, 1917, to Cyrus and Eliza (Outland) Johnson. On December 29, 1936, she was united in marriage to Ralph Stuart Alderman. Flossie was a hard worker and she and Ralph farmed in the Viola area until 1982. She also worked at O'Brians in Richland Center for several years. After Ralph's death, Flossie moved to the Readstown apartments. She had also lived at the Old Times prior to moving to Vernon Manor in March of 2006.
She is survived by her children, Darold (Luana) Alderman of Delavan, Verla (Kirby) Hamilton of Viola and Cyril Alderman of La Crosse; nine grandchildren, Jane, Peggy, Matthew, Mark, Bruce, Dennis, Bradley, Paula and Christopher; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special nephew, Charles Johnson Jr.; and special daughter-in-law, Mary Alderman of Viola.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on May 3, 1994; one sister, Florence; six brothers: Ray, Charlie, Otto, Earl, George and Lester; and one grandson, Daniel.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at the Vosseteig Funeral Home's Henthorn Memorial Center in Viola with burial in the Viola Cemetery. Friends called on Tuesday at the Vosseteig Funeral Home's Henthorn Memorial Center in Viola before the time of the services.
