CENTER JUNCTION—
Ruth Glenn, age 81, of Center Junction, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church, Center Junction with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. Pastor Joyce Dean and Elder Ivan Dean officiated at the services. Friends called from 6 to 8 Thursday, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.
Ruth Ann Ketelsen was born November 4, 1924 at John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Fredda (Lang) Ketelsen. Ruth attended Pine Grove Country School and graduated from the Center Junction High School in 1943. Ruth married Joseph Glenn in 1949. The couple later divorced. Since 1952, Ruth had made her home on the Ketelsen family farm where for many years she cared for her mother. Ruth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Center Junction where she was an Elder and a member of the Presbyterian Women. She had also belonged to the Happy Hour Club and the Center Junction Federated Women's Club. Ruth had been a devoted mother to her son Stephen .
Surviving is a granddaughter, Robin (Nate) Titler, Anamosa; a great-granddaughter, Grace; two brothers, John (Marge) Ketelsen, Cedar Rapids, Don (Marilyn) Ketelsen, Center Junction; a sister-in-law, Ann Lee, Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Stephen Glenn, a brother Richard and two nephews, Jack and Rick Ketelsen.
