I know the tombstone says 1891 but she got married 18 August 1901 in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania and her daughter, Edna Mae Shoemaker, was born in 1902. If she was born in 1891 she would have been 10 years old when she got married and 11 years old when she had her daughter.

Pub in the Connellsville, PA, Daily Courier on Monday, October 27, 1952 - MRS LUCY SHOEMAKER - SCOTTDALE, Oct. 27 - Mrs. Lucy Shoemaker, 71, of Pennsville, died at her home at 7pm on Saturday evening after a short illness. She was born at Rockwood, a daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Phillippi. She was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church. Surviving are three daughters, Miss Edna at home, Mrs. Betty Jennings of Ohiopyle, and Mrs. Blanche Watson of Pennsville, and 5 grandchildren. Her husband, Samuel Shoemaker, preceded her in death in 1934(sic). The funeral service will he held at the Ferguson funeral home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Sidney E. Kuhn, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Scottdale Cemetery. NOTE: husband died in 1924
