Allied Gardens, San Diego was developed by Louis L. Kelton and Walter Bollenbacher in 1955. They purchased the 1,000 acres from the Waring estate. Their original business name was the Allied Contractors, hence the name for the new planned community.
When Walter Rufus BOLLENBACHER was born on January 1, 1900, his father, William Henry, was 38 and his mother, Alice B. (Groves/Graves) Bollenbacher, was 27.
Walter and Grace Aileen FEE married on June 12, 1923, in Flint, Michigan. They had four children during their marriage. He died on April 1, 1977, in Brea, California, at the age of 77, and was buried in Hollywood, California.
