In rough weather and fair, he was ever ready to answer the call at noonday or at midnight. Later, Dr. Ashworth was President of The Glenwood Park Sanitorium, and Postmaster of the Glenwood Post Office in Greensboro. The sanitorium and the post office once stood on corners of Glenwood Ave. and Grove St. He was the husband of Birdie Sapp Ashworth, and the father of Lena, Myrtle, and Pearl Ashworth. (Note: On June 21, 1917, in Guilford Co. Pearl Ashworth married Andres Joyner; on Oct. 9, 1919, Myrtle Ashworth married Frank B. Morris in Guilford Co.)
