Roy Scoggan worked for the railroad most of his life, at times in Kansas and in Ohio. He served in the US Army in WW I during 1917-1918.
In WW II he trained dogs for the Coast Guard Patrol. Roy was a well-known "character" in the Waterford area in the latter part of his life. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and telling stories to any willing listener. He once gave the author, Merle Riley, a "blue tick" fox hound pup which grew up to be a great hunting dog.
