Gena Grace Bailey
1928-2011
Gena Grace Bailey, nee Hood, passed away on August 24th at the age of 82. At the time of her death, she was at her home in Milton, Florida, surrounded by her family. Gena was born in Birmingham, Alabama on December 18, 1928 to Eugene Millard and Grace Hayward Hood, who preceded her in death. Gena's brother, Eugene Millard Hood, Jr., also preceded her in death.
Gena is survived by her husband of 61 years, Howard Lindy (Sam) Bailey of Milton, Florida, their four children: Lindy Evan Bailey (Margie Drummond Bailey) of Dothan, Alabama, Melissa Anne Bailey-Kirk (Scott Bailey-Kirk) of Harrisonville, Missouri, Amy Faith Bailey of Frisco, Texas, and Cameron Hood Bailey (Teresa Stewart Bailey) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A Service of Celebration will be held at National Cremation & Burial Society; 5641 Highway 90 West, Milton, Florida on Friday, August 26th, at noon; visitation with the family will begin at 11 am on the same day. Immediately following the Service of Celebration, the family will gather for a private graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Gena's life may be made to Covenant Hospice (6479 Caroline Street, Suite B; Milton, FL 32570 or www.covenanthospice.org/waystogive) or a charity of your choice.
