Ervin R. "Buck" Buchanan, 83, a retired Burlington Northern Railroad foreman, passed away Friday, May 28, 2004.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Rosemont Church of Christ. Burial: 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Hills Gardens, Memphis, Tenn. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ Haven, P.O. Box 467, Keller 76244 or Community Hospice, 301 Medpark Circle, Burleson 76028.

Buck was born Jan. 14 1921, in Faulkner, Miss. He participated in the U.S. Army D-Day invasion at Normandy Beach during World War II. Buck loved to travel. He was an outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting. He was a member of Rosemont Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by parents, Asa and Bama Buchanan; brothers, Alvin, Leon and Roy Buchanan.

Survivors: Wife, Mamie Carruth Buchanan of Fort Worth; son, David Carruth and wife, Kathy of Fort Worth; daughter, Dr. Carol Burns and husband, Dr. Dennis Burns of Dallas; brother, Travis Buchanan and wife, Grady of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters, Gladys Jones and husband, Bobby, Marie Shearin of Memphis, Tenn. and Hazel Smith and husband, Granville of Grand Junction, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Mamie Lee Buchanan of Kansas City, Kan.; grandchildren, Courtney Hugghins and husband, Kevin, Brian Carruth and wife, Misty, Lauren Carruth, Kelly Burns and Evan Burns.
