Jovita attended life drawing classes at the Portland Art Musuem for several years. Philip and Jovita divorced after twenty five years of marriage. She married Jerry A. Madden on October 18, 1976, in Vancouver, Washington and resided in Woodburn OR for five years until her divorce in 1981. Jovita continued creating art pieces up until her demise locally in the S.E. Hawthorne area of Portland where she resided. Art was her life long passion.
Jovita was predeceased by her parents and oldest daughter, Anita McGriff. She is survived by her sister, Marlene Drexler, Las Vegas, NV; daughter Sheila LaChance, Portland, OR; and one granddaughter, Sandra Jozwiak, Portland, OR. No memorial service was held by her request. Ashes were scattered.
