Elliott Francis "Chick" Estey, Sr., 81, of Raymond NH, died May 12, 2006, at his home surrounded by family after a long illness. He was born June 14, 1924, in Windham NH, son of the late Arnold and Lottie (Williams) Estey. Chick resided in Raymond for the past 22 years; he was formerly of East Kingston NH and Manchester NH. He also enjoyed wintering in Fort Meade FL. Elliott retired from civil service after working for over 20 years as a mechanic at Pease Air Force Base NH. Mr. Estey was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He received a Purple Heart as a survivor of the USS Meredith which was sunk helping Guadalcanal defenders on October 15, 1942. He was a member of the East Kingston Methodist Church for 38 years. He was an adult Boy Scout Leader for the Lone Tree Council, a life member of the East Kingston Fire Department, longtime member of the Wingold Grange, 19-year deacon for the Bethany Chapel in Manchester NH, and a longtime member of the Sandown Historical Society.

He is survived by his wife Pat (Reynolds) Estey of Raymond NH; sons Ron and wife Debra Estey of Middleburg FL, Wayne and wife Peg Estey of River Ranch FL, and Elliott "Peachy" and wife Elizabeth Estey of Newton NH; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers Gilbert and wife Bea Estey of Candia NH and Chuck and wife Carol Estey of Windham NH; sisters Margie and husband Al Bourget of New Boston NH, Gloria Maynard of Raymond NH, and Phyllis Jacobs of Windham NH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
