Evelyn E. (Forth) AMOS

AMOS, Evelyn E. (Forth) Age 89, of Trotwood, passed away April 14, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 70 years, Herbert "Dutch" Amos; and daughter, Sherry Rife. Evelyn is survived by 6 children, Richard (Norann) Amos, Jack Amos, Carol Gilvin, Ron (Joan) Amos, Don Amos, and Julie (Janet Stasio) Amos; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her large, extended family, and friends. Evelyn was a lifelong and instrumental member of the Trotwood Church of the Brethren. She and Dutch served as deacons at the church for many years. Evelyn worked at Trotwood Madison City Schools as the principal's secretary for 7 years and administrative assistant for the superintendent for 10 years. She loved her community and served as Betsy Trotwood during a Heritage Days celebration. Evelyn was well known for her culinary skills, especially pies, her infamous homemade chocolate cakes and applesauce. She was a friend to everyone and never, ever met a stranger. Evelyn was happiest when she was surrounded by her large family and especially all of her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00AM Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Trotwood Church of the Brethren, 208 E. Main St., with Pastor Paula Bowser officiating. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM and also Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service. The family would like to thank the staff at Friendship Village and Acclaim Hospice for their loving care.
