He graduated in 1964 from Hampton Community High School, Hampton, Iowa.
He was married to Dianna Selene on April 8, 1967 in Hampton, Iowa.
In 1966 he was drafted into the U.S. Army Signal Corps and served a six-month tour in Vietnam from May to October 1968.
He and Dianna had two children, Kristine and Kurt.
Steve was employed by Honeywell until November 1989, and then was self-employed as a computer consultant up until his death.
He was a former board member of American Red Cross and March of Dimes.
He was an active member of the Lincoln Amateur Radio Club, Blue Valley Amateur Radio Club, West Valley (AZ) Amateur Radio Club, Quarter Century Wireless Association, Life Member of American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and American Legion Post #3. He was licensed as Amateur Radio Operator WA0ASM for 50 years.
He is Survived by wife, Dianna J. of Lincoln, NE Daughter & son-in-law Kristine & Frederick Williams of Iowa City, Iowa, Son and daughter-in-law, Kurt and Ami May of Lincoln, NE. Grandchildren, Liam Williams, Brandon & Trista May; Brother, Lowell May of Denver, CO; Brother-in-law & Spouse, Alan & MaryBeth Selene of Madison, Wisconsin; nieces, Wendy Selene and Jessica Selene of Des Moines, Iowa and Jessica's children, Austin & Olivia. Preceded in death by his parents.
