He was a graduate of Miami University, Oxford, and received his masters degree from the University of Cincinnati. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa fraternity and of F.& A.M. Lodge No. 42 of West Union, the Scottish Rite at Dayton and William Myers Chapter, No. 196, O.E.S. at McCutchenville. He was a World War I veteran and served in the Red Cross in Panama during World War II.
He died in the Seneca Co. portion of McCutchenville, OH.
