John Ludger "Sonny" LeVasseur

Services for John Ludger "Sonny" LeVasseur, 55, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Deacon Joe Peltner officiating. Burial followed in Memory Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. LeVasseur died Thursday, April 4, 1996, at his residence in Natchitoches.

A native of Powhatan, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired crew foreman for United Gas Company of Shreveport and a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council, #1??? and earned the reputation of a hard worker.

Survivors include his wife, Ginger LeVasseur of Natchitoches; two sons, John Burton LeVasseur of Coushatta and Justin Paul LeVasseur of Natchitoches; one daughter, Connie Lynn LeVasseur of Panama City, Fla.; his mother, Maggie LeVasseur of Natchitoches; two sisters, Barbara B. Thomas of Farmerville and Karen Poches of Natchitoches; three brothers, Butch LeVassuer of Natchitoches, Sidney Carroll LeVasseur of Arp, Texas, and Joe LeVasseur of Powhatan.

He was precveded in death by his father, Ludger LeVasseur and a brother, Jackie LeVasseur.

Pallbearers were Tommy Beck, Kirby Moreau, Lynn Lee, Archie Dalme, Robert "Junior" Baker, Raymond Gourdon, Charles Gourdon and Ricky LeVasseur.
