James D. "Jay" Frick, 68, of Hunker, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, in UPMC Presbyterian. He was born May 5, 1943, in Braddock, a son of the late James A. and Bertha D. (Loutsenhiser) Frick.
Jay was a retired employee of Hamilton Buick with 39 years of service, retiring as mechanic shop foreman and also operated Jay's GN Parts.
He was a graduate of Norwin High School and served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Buick Club of America and a life member of the Youngwood Sportsmen's Association.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Jeanne (Lewis) Frick; children, John D. (Debbie) Frick, of North Huntingdon, and Janine (Paul) Schott, of Irwin; grandchildren, Joshua Frick and Jessica and Jason Schott; a brother, Jerry (Carol) Frick, of Greensburg; sister-in-law, Grace Gongaware; and numerous nieces and nephews, including James (Jennifer) Frick.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Diane Wiley officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Animal Rescue League or the American Heart Association.
