Harley died at the Bronson, Vicksburg Hospital Emergency Room. He was the son of George W. and Katherine (Root) McClish, and had resided in St. Joseph and Kalamazoo counties his entire life. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, and was a member of VFW Post #1527 of Kalamazoo. He was employed by Kalamazoo Manufacturing Co. for over 35 years, retiring in 1969. He was married to the former Harriet Stimpson on Oct. 18, 1983 in Vicksburg, she survives along with 2 step-sons and their wives, Donald and Barbara McClish of Centreville and Maurice and Margaret McClish of Portage; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and by 4 sister-in-laws, Elizabeth McClish of Jackson; Meda Stimpson of Grand Rapids; Arlene Linhart of Indianapolis; and Mrs. Alfred (Vera) Thomas of Vicksburg. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Carl, Verne and Howard McClish.
He married first and fourth to Harriet L. Stimpson, Nov 23, 1929 and Oct 18, 1983. His second marriage, Nov 6, 1945, was to Genevieve L. Mathis, who died in Kalamazoo, 1971. Harley's third marriage was to Mildred (White) McClish, the wife of his second cousin, Lawrence McClish.
