Janie Franks Hazle was also the daughter of Martha A. Lanford. As of this writing, we have not been able to locate her grave. Janie's father Charles Mansil Franks is buried in Arkansas, where he had moved after the death of Martha and following his second marriage to Matilda Glenn Waters. He wanted to live closer to some of his children who had relocated there earlier.
I remember Great Granny Hazle very well. I was a little girl at the time she died, but I remember crawling into her lap and holding her hands. They were very old hands, but gentle and warm. I still have the card she sent when I was born; it contains my birth announcement. I also still have birthday cards she sent. She was thoughtful and loving and helped foster in me a lifelong love and respect for the elderly. She set the best example.
