Services for Mrs. Emma D. Swenor, 86, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Stone Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Manker, of the United Methodist Church will officiate and interment will be in the Alanson Cemetery.
Mrs. Swenor died Saturday afternoon at the Lockwood-MacDonald Hospital.
She was born Emma D. Sadler November 24, 1885 at Alanson. She attended schools there and was a lifelong resident of the area.
In 1903, at Alanson, she married Ben Swenor and he preceded her in death in 1960.
While visiting in California in 1951 she was named Queen for a Day on the afternoon television show.
Mrs. Swenor was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Lombard Women's Relief Corps No. 152 and a charter member of the Blue Star Mothers, Chapter No. 32.
Survivors include four sons, Bernard, of Rogers City, Hobart, of Flint, Gordon, of Petoskey and Everett, of Birmingham, Mich; four daughters, Mrs. Arley (Ileth) Watson, of Flint, Mrs. Rena Lewis of North Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Fred (Elsie) Tallman, of Cheboygan and Mrs. Teresa Cumberland, of Petoskey; 43 grandchildren, 91 great grand children; three great, great grand children and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Davert, of Petoskey.
The body is at the Stone Funeral Home where friends may call.
