Hertha W. Peterson of Streamwood for 55 years Visitation for Hertha W. Peterson (nee Wieser), one of the first Streamwood residents, will be held Monday, April 9, from 11 a.m. until time of prayers at 12:15 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Road), Streamwood/Schaumburg, proceeding to Immanuel United Church of Christ, for services at 1 p.m. Following the services, cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory. Born Dec. 21, 1920, in Chicago, Hertha died Thursday, April 5, 2012. An avid sports fan, she loved the Cubs. She loved all animals, especially her three dogs, birds, playing games, reading, stitchery, and making books with her grandson. Hertha was a longtime member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Streamwood, and remembered for her strong faith, strong will and sparkle in her eye. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles; loving mother of Bill (Sheri) Peterson of Tampa, Fla. and Linda (Rick) of Carpentersville; cherished grandmother of Jacob and Aaron and Matthew ; dear sister of the late Walter (the late Louise); and aunt of many loving nieces and nephews. Donations made to American Diabetes Association , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or the Humane Society, Department MEMIT9, 2100 L St. NW, Washington, DC 20037, would be appreciated.
