Resident's Father Dies

Bennie V. Moore, 77, father of Mrs. John C. Butler, 2417 Mansard Street, died Sunday night in a Vernon hospital following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Moore, a retired wholesale fish dealer formerly of Paris, resided in Wichita Falls prior to entering a local hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel.

Eugene Gilmore, minister of Houston and Pease Church of Christ, will officiate. Interment will be in East View Memorial Park.

Mr. Moore was born Dec. 21, 1891. He married Fannie Polston Sept. 11, 1912, in Paris, Texas. He retired and moved to Wichita Falls in 1966.

He was a member of the church of Christ. He was preceded in death by two sons, an infant son in 1924 and Willard Moore in 1941, and by two daughters, Mrs. Roscoe Bounds of Lorenzo in 1968 and Mrs. Charles Roson in 1963.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Butler of Vernon, Mrs. June Simpson of Londale, Calif., and Mrs. Jerry Abruscato of Torrance, Calif.; three sons, J.B. Moore of Allen, Tex., and George R. Moore and Curtis Moore, both of Odessa; two brothers, Johnny Moore of Oregon and Dyer Moore of Powerly [sic], Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Tippits and Mrs. Lizzie Morris, both of Powderly and Mrs. Lela Young of Snyder, Okla.; 36 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
