DUANE E. MASTERSON, age 86 died Dec. 15, 2004 in Parma, Ohio after an extended illness. He was born April 11, 1918 in Port Huron, MI to the late Georgye and Duane Masterson, Sr. Duane was a Veteran of WWII, during the war he served with the 1st and 3rd Armies in the 99th Infantry Division and participated in the Campaigns of Rhineland, Ardennes, Remagan, Ruhr Pocket and the Battle of the Bulge. He was with the heavy machine gun Platoon in the European Theater. He received the Bronze Star and a Battlefield Commision. After the war, he returned to Cleveland where he was a Great Lake Boat dispatcher for the M. A. Hanna Co. where he retired in 1980 after 32 years of service. Duane was a member of the United Church of Christ in Brooklyn, a 50 year Mason and belonged to serveral Maritime orginizations. Surviors include his wife Nadine of 64 years.
