Edythe L. Bare, 96, of Taylorville, formerly of Greenville, died at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 1999, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Pana.

Mrs. Bare was born March 18, 1903 in Rosamond, the daughter of Samuel Jacob and Lucy (Skates) Bryson. She married Chester O. Bare on October 27, 1920 in Greenville. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1967. Mrs. Bare was a member of Taylorville Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Greenville.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ivan (June) Trulock of Taylorville; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Maryellen Harrison; six brothers, Albert Bryson, Harry Bryson, Forrest Bryson, Dorris “Jake” Bryson, Ralph Bryson and Earl Bryson; two half-brothers, Clayton Bryson and James Curtis Clouse; and one sister, Margaret Isabelle Gulrich.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 2, 1999, at Sutton Memorial Home. Rev. Richard Wamsley officiated, with burial following in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Dennis Fishel, Thomas Harrison, Troy Fishel, Kevin Fishel, Bradley Paisley and Nathan Short.
