Joseph Schlecht Davis, "Big Joe," was born May 6, 1927, and passed away April 14, 2012. Joe was the oldest son of Amelia and Leonard Davis of Boulder City. Joe graduated from Boulder City High School in 1945, and enjoyed playing football for the Boulder City Eagles and working at Hoover Dam during the summers. He and first wife, Marjorie, had three children and lived in many of the western states. Joe loved southern Nevada and returned home to Boulder City in 1958. He and second wife, Betty Jean, both retired from Reynolds Electric in Mercury. He was preceded in death by first wife, Marjorie; and second wife, Betty Jean Davis. He is survived by his son, Joe "Little Joe" (Virginia) Davis; daughters, Kathleen (Hank) Brakebush and Theresa (Jim) Villella; granddaughters, Sommer Benninghoven (Tamer) Amer, Kellie (Brian) Logue and Jamie and Jessica Villella; brothers, Bill and Henry (Nevada Lee) Davis; four great-grandsons, Benjamin and Nicholas Logue, Noor and Malek Amer; and many family and friends. Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, May 7, at Davis Memorial Park, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas.
