GOLD HILL - Michael Lentz Cline, 60, of Gold Hill, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center Main in Charlotte.
Michael was born March 1, 1951, in Rowan County, a son of Archie Jacob Cline and Annie Evelena Christy Cline.
Educated in the Mount Pleasant schools, Mr. Cline was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, where he was a former Assistant Secretary of Sunday School and a former Assistant Scout Master. Michael was a member of Lutheran Men In Mission and was awarded Life Membership.
Highlights in Michael's activities were his membership in the Coltrane Life Center and being an honorary member of A&S Taxi Service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Harold Cline; and two sisters, Sue Walker and Ruth Hopkins.
Survivors include his guardian and niece, Rebecca W. Parker of Gold Hill; three sisters, Billie McAllister of Mount Pleasant, Linda Riley of Gold Hill and Peggy Green of Cape Canaveral, Fla.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Powles Funeral Home.
Service: Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church by Rev. Constance Garrett, pastor, and Pastor Tommy Long. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
