Sarah was the oldest of 8 children born to John Carr Cole and Sarah Ann (Walker) Cole. Her siblings were Rachel, William A, Catherine R, Rebecca F., Sterling Price "Ferlin", Alice J and Nina E. She married John Richard Farrar and they had a son, William in about 1878. I can find no further information them. John died before 1900. In 1900 she was boarding with the Hugh McKee family. In 1910, she was a servant for the William Rufel family. In 1910, she was living with her brother, Sterling "Ferlin", and his family.
