VIOLA, Wis. — Keith DeLap, 82, of rural Viola died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at Vernon Manor in Viroqua.
He was born in Vernon County on Jan. 1, 1922, to Cyrus and Ruby (McKee) DeLap.
He was united in marriage to Mary Hill on Nov. 15, 1942.
They lived in the Viola area all their married years where Keith farmed, hauled milk for area farmers and worked for the town of Liberty, Ludlow Cattle Co. and Brennan Cattle Co.
A favorite companion of Keith's was his dog, Ruff.
He is survived by his daughter, Judith DeLap Long of Viola; his daughter-in-law, Judy K. Collins of Boaz; five grandchildren, Bruce (Kitty) DeLap of Richland Center, Wis., Barbara Carey of Wausau, Wis., Barry (Susan) DeLap of Richland Center, Barbara (Brady) Doudna of Richland Center and Todd (Sara) Long of Milton, Wis.; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Juhrend of Pasadena, Calif., and Rosie Jane Melvin of La Crosse; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, on Jan. 26, 2004; his son, Jim DeLap; his parents; one brother, Ray DeLap; and his dog, Ruff.
The funeral service for Keith will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, in Viola United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Doris Clark will officiate, with burial in the Viola Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Monday after 1 p.m.
Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is assisting the family with arrangements.
