Harriett's second husband, Aaron Abbott, purchased her freedom from Andrew Taul of Clark County, Kentucky in 1860. The couple moved to Ohio. They had several children together: Barzel, Nancy Eveline, Mary E., and Samuel. After Aaron's death, Harriett moved in 1887 to Waco to be near her daughter from her first marriage, Betty.
