Lucille Oberhelman was born April 21, 1916, in rural Livermore, daughter of James and Meredith (Eddy) Anderson. Lucille attended school in rural Corwith. On October 25, 1936, she married Norman Oberhelman at the Zion Lutheran Church in LuVerne. To this union three children were born.

Lucille farmed alongside her husband first in the Corwith and Renwick area and then in 1949, they moved to Wadena, MN for four years. She was a 4-H leader while living in Minnesota. They returned to Iowa and farmed north of Renwick. In 1975, she took nurses aid classes and worked at the new Humboldt Hospital. Lucille and Norman retired into Corwith in 1980. Lucille was a homemaker and a wonderful cook and she loved to play cards, especially cribbage. She took many hunting and fishing trips with her husband.
