Obit: Anthony Piazza
Anthony Piazza, 90, of 1916 S. Custer Road, Custer, died early Sunday at Baywood Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Anthony Piazza was born April 6, 1906, in Blue Island, Ill, to Leonard and Domenica (Battaglia) Piazza. He lived in Chicago and Free Soil where he attended Bennett School. He was married Oct. 21, 1942, in Ludington to Leota M. Quinn and she survives.
He first farmed on his mother's farm in Free Soil and then purchased his own dairy farm in Fountain which he owned and operated until 1978 when he retired. He loved to bowl and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Nina M. (and Rod) Harris of Plymouth, Toni C. (and Maury) Dean of Patchogue, N.Y., and Lenora (and Dale) Cole of Greenfield, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Lisa (and Greg) Putnam of Normal. Ill., Brian Cole of Greenfield, Ill., Lauri L. (and Larry Barnes) Dean of New York, N.Y., Jeremy J. Dean of Patchogue, N.Y., Rambha R. Dean of Patchogue, N.Y., Keely J. Harris of Chicago, Ill., Tyler M. Harris of East Lansing; one great-grandchild, Emmy Johnson of Normal, Ill.; two sisters, Anna Lee of Barrington Hills, Ill., and Josephine Morong of Fountain; nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Piazza will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dorrell Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Russell Garrigus of the United Methodist Church of Manistee and the Rev. John Christensen of Ludington officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Custer.
The family will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday to receive friends.
Memorials may be directed to the Scottville Area Senior Center with envelopes available at the funeral home.
