Donald W. Adams, 76, Seneca, died at 11:05 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, following a short illness, at St. John's Hospital in Joplin.

Mr. Adams was born Feb. 4, 1921, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Frank Adams and Evelyn (Bridge) Adams. He served in the Pacific Theatre with the 88th Signal Corps and was stationed at Camp Crowder during World War II. Mr. Adams came to rural Seneca in 1953 and was self-employed construction contractor. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and V.F.W. Post 6363, Seneca Memorial Post.

He married June Boswell on Jan. 26, 1943 in Post, TX. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Wayne Adams and Calvin "Butch" Adams, both of Seneca and Ross Adams, Diamond; two daughters, Marie Oxford and Sue Boyer, both of Neosho; one brother, Art Adams, Elsinore, UT; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa June and two brothers, Glen Adams and Jay Adams.

Services under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, were held at 3 p.m. Friday at Clark's Chapel of Memories with Bishop Steve McDaniel officiating. Burial was in New Salem Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Marty Oxford, Scottie Adams, Matthew Boyer, Chad Adams, Eric Boyer, Wade Adams and Clayton Adams.

A Flag folding ceremony was performed by VFW Post 6363 Seneca Memorial Post.
