Adella Louisanna Nuckolls - Nowlin was the daughter of Col. Nathaniel M. Nuckolls and Louisiana Hawkins Thorton.

She was the wife of Dr. James Rush Staples Nowlin, Sr.

Mrs. Adella L. Nowlin, widow of the late James Rush Nowlin, died at her home on Chestnut Street this morning as the result of an attack of pneumonia.
The funeral will be at the home tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock.
Mrs. Nowlin was 70 years old and was the daughter of Nathaniel Nichols, of Columbus, Ga. She was married in 1869 and spent most of her wedded life in Gadsden. She joined the Baptist church when but a little girl and was long a member of the First Baptist church here. She was reared in that faith, as her father was a Baptist deacon.
