Maria Acosta was the daughter of Lazaro Acosta & Maria Pilar Ontiveros of Meoqui, Chihuahua. Maria was sister to Genaro, Trinidad, Irene, Enrique, Lupe & Luz. Maria married Andres Saavedra in St. Johns, AZ and together they had 4 children: Pilar, Pedro, Esther & Andrew. After the death of Andres in 1918, she stayed in Saint Johns. Maria later married Esidio Lucero about 1925 and had one more son Lorenzo Lucero.
In 1933 she traveled to Los Angeles to have surgery. She survived the surgery, and was in Los Angeles during the 6.3 Long Beach Earthquake. Her health continued to fail and she died in Los Angeles on 04/10/1933. Her Husband & Children took her body by railroad back to Arizona and she her burial was in Winslow.
