Death of Dr. John R. Bigelow.—Dr. John Reynolds Bigelow died last night at his residence, 931 G street northwest, in the eightieth year of his age. Dr. Bigelow came here during the war with the 9th regiment New York State Militia, and subsequently resided at Norfolk, Va., where he was one of the grand jury that indicted Jefferson Davis and Gen. Lee. He resided before the war at Cummington, Mass., and was a personal friend of Senator Dawes and Wm. Cullen Bryant. For some years he had been one of the examiners in the southern division of the Pension Office, and was a member of the E-street Baptist church. He leaves three sons—John P., who is now in London, chief of the Treasury Loan Division, Frank and George S. Bigelow. The funeral takes place tomorrow afternoon from his late residence, and the interment will be at Oak Hill.
