Mr. Balle was born in Roll and lived in Delaware County most of his life. He retired in 1983 after working 37 years at Delco Battery.
He was a member of Delco Sympathy Club and Eagles Aerie 231 and a former member of American Legion Post 327 in Cammack.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Jean Hertzog Balle, Muncie and five daughters;
A brother, Lawrence Balle, died in 1991.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Miller officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, north of Muncie, where American Legion Post 19 will have military graveside services. Calling will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
