Born March 24, 1950, in Vincennes, he was the son of Sheldon Williams and Wanna Lee Willis.
Sammy worked for the Kindell Mine No. 2 in Pike County.
Survivors include his ex-wife Brenda Day of Petersburg, whom he married January 1, 1988; his parents, Sheldon and Wanna Lee Day of Monroe City; two Sons, Neal and his wife, Angie Day of Winslow, and Eric Day of Evansville; two sisters, Mindy Wessel of Vincennes and Jodean Day of Monroe City; three granddaughters, Jessica Russell, Chelsie Day and Chloe Day; and two grandsons, Jacob Day and Jared Day.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Goodwin Funeral Home by Pastor Steve Frederick. Burial will be in
Walnut Grove Cemetery in Monroe City.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
