Lucy C. was born at Streetor, Iowa on 26 July 1840; died at Crossville, Cumberland Co., Tennessee on 24 February 1927 aged 86 years after a stroke; buried at Crossville Cemetery by the Revs. A.W. BEASLEY and A. NIGHTINGALE [Cumberland County Cemetery Records, p. 25; Her Obituary, Crossville Chronicle, 3 Mar. 1927].

Laura had brothers, Thomas, and Earnest, and sisters, Lillie (married Mark C. DUNBAR, see below) and Mrs. Lottie COOK, wife of F.E. [Crossville Newspapers, p. 180, 206].

Lucy married James H. BEADLE, a Civil War veteran. J.H., of Ellington, and Lucy, of East Waterloo, were married at Cedar Falls, Iowa 1 January 1866 by Rev. L.B. FIFIELD, pastor of the Congregational Church [Civil War Invalid Pension Certificate No. 118867; Crossville Chronicle, 3 Mar. 1927]. From 1860 until 1887 J.H. and family resided at Ellington, Hancock Co., Iowa.

At least two children of J.H. and Lucy resided at Ellington, Hancock Co., Iowa [Crossville Newspapers, p. 180, 206].

1. James E., b. 2 March 1867, resided at Council Bluffs, Iowa Dec. 1924 [Crossville Chronicle, 11 Dec. 1924],
2. Laura A., b. 7 February 1871,

4. Lillie L., b. 12 Nov. 1875, married F.E. COOK, died 1897, resided at Forest City, Iowa April 1897 [Crossville Newspapers, p. 206],
