Marlene Leroy Cornibe, 76, of Butler passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012.
She was born in Butler on Aug. 17, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Maurice and Mary Twerdok Leroy.
Marlene was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of 55 and Alive at Saint Michael's and was also a greeter at Saint Michael's.
Her kindness and sense of humor and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all.
She was the loving mother of five children, including two sons, Bradley Cornibe and his wife, Karen, of Butler and Brian Cornibe and his wife, Melissa, of Drexel Hill, Pa.; and three daughters, Vickie Cornibe Laughridge and her husband, Jim, of Virginia Beach, Va., Tracy Cornibe Schaffner and her husband, Tony, of Butler and Leslie Cornibe of Butler; and nine grandchildren, Sarah and Channing Cornibe, Kalyn, Torin and Tanner Laughridge, Dylan Schaffner, and Jake, Alex and Emma Cornibe.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving sister, June Kosar.
CORNIBE - Friends of Marlene Leroy Cornibe, who died Thursday, April 12, 2012, will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church at noon Monday with the Rev. James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Saint Michael's Cemetery.
The bereavement group of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Sunday to conduct a scriptural wake service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
