Obituary published Thursday, May 12, 1932 on front page in Niagara Falls Gazette: It reads as:
"Ransomville resident succumbs age 73; Ransomville- Mrs. Augusta WANDE, 73, died yesterday (May 11th), at her family home here. Funeral services will be held from the home on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and at 2:00 o'clock from the St. Peters German Lutheran Church at North Ridge, Rev. C.F. Dauphin will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery. Mrs. Wande is survived by three sons, Otto Crewe of Wilson, Frank Crewe of Niagara Falls and Rudolph Crewe of Model City, and one daughter Mathilda Crewe, at home; a sister Mathilda Marquette of Ransomville and one brother, Wilhelm Lehmann of Lewiston."
NOTE: Augusta's 1st husband was E. Otto Crewe, they had 7 children; 2 were born in Germany, Herman 'Otto' Paul Crewe & Maria Anna Crewe, they came to America in 1884. Another girl was born in the Town of Porter, NY, Anna Marie augusta Crewe both she and the daughter Maria died in 1885 of THYPHOID FEVER. Other children were: Wilhelm L; Franz W., Rudolph H., and daughter Mathilda 'Tillie' Crewe. After 'Otto' death in 1899 (40ys old)from Cancer, Augusta married Fred Wande they had NO children. She is buried in St. Peters Cemetery near her 1st husband but with her 2nd husband. Her 2 daughters are also buried near her.
