Anita L. Saxton
Anita L. Saxton, 39, of 1120 W. Hansen Road, Scottville, died Saturday as a result of injuries sustained in a plane accident in Pensacola, Fla. Also killed in the same accident was her son, Nolan Lee Saxton, 12.
Anita Louise Magnuson was born May 18, 1957, in Muskegon, where she grew up and attended school. She graduated with honors from Reeths-Puffer High School with the class of 1975. She was a majorette with the Reeths-Puffer High School Band. She attended Muskegon Business School and West Shore Community College.
She was married Nov. 18, 1979, in Ludington to Randy L. Saxton and he survives. She was co-owner of West Shore Builders of Ludington, along with her husband Randy, and had also worked for Scotty-s Restaurant. More recently she was employed as office manager of Cal-Chlor, Inc. of Ludington. She was a member of Prayer and Praise Assembly of God Church of Ludington and enjoyed sewing and music.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Bridgette Renee Saxton of ann Arbor, Stephanie Mivchelle Saxton of Kalamazoo, Spencer Jordan Saxton, 9, at home, one son Derek Gabriel Saxton, 15, who was so brave through all of this and helped take care of his sister Spencer until Dad could arrive; her mother, L. Louise Magnuson of Muskegon; one uncle, Art (and Faye) Magnuson; one great-aunt, Mrs. Alva (Marie) Martin, both of Muskegon.
Services for Anita L. Saxton will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Community Church of Ludington with Robert Wrasse officiating, Interment will follow in Center Riverton Cemetery.
The family will be present at the Dorrell Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday to receive friends.
Memorials may be directed to the Berean Bible Church of Grand Rapids or to the Saxton Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
